Hermann Waterkamp

Hermann Waterkamp, born in 1961, is managing shareholder and creative director at Leagas Delaney Hamburg. Together with his partner, he has headed up the advertising agency (www.relevante-ideen.de) since the spring of 2000. He previously worked for other established agencies in Hamburg, such as Jung von Matt and Scholz & Friends, and gained experience further afield with Ogilvie and Mather (Düsseldorf and Vienna). In addition to his duties at his company, he works as a part-time lecturer at Hamburg’s Miami Ad School. Mr. Waterkamp has also been a member of the jury for several awards festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival (2002), and has received many prizes for his own work in international competitions over the years. His portfolio of satisfied customers includes many well-known brands and groups; one of them is Germany’s Free Democratic Party, for whom he helped organize three election campaigns.
