Prof. Dr. Christian Schicha

Prof. Dr. Christian Schicha (www.schicha.net) is an expert in communications sciences born in 1964. He works in the department “Media Management” at the University of Applied Sciences, Düsseldorf. Prof. Dr. Schicha is additionally the spokesman at Duisburg`s Institute for Information and Communication Ecology e.V., and chief editor of the journal “Zeitschrift für Kommunikationsökologie und Medienethik (ZfKM)”. He has been a jury member for the media issues watchdog initiative “Nachrichtenaufklärung” (www.nachrichtenaufklaerung.de) since the year 2000. Starting in 2004, Prof. Dr. Schicha also joined the board of directors at the “Verein zur Förderung der publizistischen Selbstkontrolle” (www.publizistische-selbstkontrolle.de), an association involved in media transparency. In 2007, he became an acting spokesman for the DGPuK advisory panel “Communication and Media Ethics” (www.netzwerk-medienethik.de).
